Welcome to the Historic Hyde Square wiki. This project is something anyone can participate in. Create an account, sign in, and you can contribute to this effort to document our neighborhood's history. Hyde Square is part of Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood, roughly bounded by South Huntington Avenue to the West, Jackson Square to the east, Boylston Street to the south, and Heath Street to the north.

Proposed Historic Districts

  • Blessed Sacrament - The intact 19th century Catholic parish complex at the heart of the neighborhood
  • Bynner - Three farmhouses are the oldest houses in the neighborhood
  • Creighton - Distinctive multifamily houses from the 1870s
  • Evergreen - A cluster of Italianate single-family homes from the 1860s
  • Hyde Square - A variety of three-deckers in the Queen Anne style
  • Round Hill - Sunnyside - An 1890s innovation in creating model housing for the "substantial workingman"
